Tempting Eden Kindle Edition

Jack England
Eden Rochester is a force. A whirlwind of intensity and thinly-veiled passion. Over the past few years, I’ve worked hard to avoid my passions, to lock them up so they can’t harm me—or anyone else—again. But Eden Rochester ignites every emotion I have. Every glance from her sharp eyes and each teasing word from her indulgent lips adds more fuel to the fire. Resisting her? Impossible. From the moment I held her in my arms, I had to have her. But tempting her into opening up could cost me my job and much, much more.

Eden Rochester
When Jack England crosses my path and knocks me off my high horse, something begins to shift. Imperceptible at first, the change grows each time he looks into my eyes or brushes against my skin. He’s my assistant, but everything about him calls to me, tempts me. And once I give in, he shows me who he really is—dominant, passionate, and with a dark past. After long days of work and several hot nights, I realize the two of us are bound together. But my secrets won’t stay buried, and they cut like a knife.

This is a stand-alone romance with heart, heat, and a HEA.

Tempting Eden has so many layers I'm going to have to read this book at least three more times because I am sure I must have missed some of the finer points... This book is the reason I read. PopKitty

    Celia Aaron is a Goddess!
I don’t think I need to write more in my review.

Oh okay then. It’s clearly not enough.

Those who know me, know that I am a great fan of Celia Aaron. I am like a little girl in front of the window to the bakery, whenever she releases a new book, and I just got to read her books. It’s not because I’m not critical of her writing ( this I’m telling myself in a very grave voice) I just seem to love everything she produces.

I read Tempting Eden on my couch one Sunday afternoon. I was sick, and I was feeling really sorry for myself, but when I started reading this book, I forgot all about being sick. I was pulled right into her world and as always, the universe she created was amazing.

This book, however, was different from what she normally writes. It gave us an amazing love story, but it also gave us racial- and social discrimination. By twisting the story into a modern Jane Eyre story, Celia gets to raise her voice on the ongoing racial- and social problems the world is facing. It pains me to know that we are still struggling with some of the same problems as they did in 1847 when Charlotte Brontë wrote Jane Eyre. I would have loved it if we all were smarter and wiser in the year 2016.

Celia Aaron’s characters are a fine group of people, and I loved the good guys and with all my heart hated the bad guys. It doesn’t matter if the hero is, green, blue, pink or purple if Celia writes him, he is bound to be smoking hot, just like Jake England! I’m still wondering if not Jake England is going to end up as my favorite Celia Aaron hero, my heart is beating for him in a big way, that’s for sure. The way Eden and Jake compliments each other is just perfect, and I love them both.

I’m going to re-read this book; that’s for sure. I’m quite sure I will discover some twist and turns I haven’t discovered the first time.

I received an ARC, from the author, in exchange for an honest review.

"A modern re-telling of Jane Eyre that will leave you breathless..."

The book did leave me breathless for many reasons.

I loved the role reversal: for once, the dominant figure in the book was a woman! And a powerful woman at that!

Eden Rochester is a successful real estate agent. She is confident, capable, demanding and not easy work with.

She demands a lot from her assistances and so far non of them met the requirements.

    Until Jack England ….

Jack comes from a different background than Eden.

He grew up in the foster care system but worked hard to overcome his past and build a life for himself. Not an easy thing to do, considering Jack is an ex-convict.

The attraction between Eden and Jack is there from the first page. They feel it but don’t act on it.

Jack intrigues Eden and she keeps watching him, and trying to unravel the mystery of him.
Both Jack and Eden have secrets. Secrets that helped shape them into the persons they are.

Despite their best efforts, they haven’t overcome their past and that is slowly destroying them.
Eden and Jack develop a personal relationship. With Jack, Eden can let go.

They keep the personal separate from the professional and Jack is always respectful towards her.
The fact they sleep together doesn’t mean he takes the reins professionally, as Eden has more experience in the RE field. (Well done Celia!!)

I admired Eden as a woman. She had to live and thrive in a male dominated field. And she did that. But the price for that was high.

She had to make tough choices in her personal life as well, and again, I admire her decisions. She did what she thought was best at the time.

I loved her courage in changing her life after the secrets she held hurt her relationship with Jack.
She let go of the fear and exposed herself to the world, because she knew at the end, it’s the only thing that will set her free and make her able to finally live her life.

I understood Jack's anger at her but was anxious to see how the author resolved the issues between them.

They both made mistakes but at the end, forgave one another.

A powerful book that stays with you well after you finish reading.

It shows you what women have to deal with in the workplace, at any position and profession.

They deal with issues of race and discrimination, issues that people of color deal with at every day and age.

An ARC was given to me by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Tempting Eden is the re-telling of Jane Eyre's story in a modern way.
However, this version is beautifully well-written, brilliantly well-developed, entertaining, captivating and intriguing. The characters actions, exchanges, thoughts and interactions with one another was believable and very compelling, making of this book an automatic page turner.

This is Jack's and Eden's story. They have worked hard to get where they're right now. Both of them have secrets and a dark past. Their story is about finding love, forgiveness, acceptance, trust, new beginnings, and scorching hot passionate scenes.

I like the way their relationship developed, it wasn't forced and it did seem real. It dealt with a lot of issues like race, class, foster care, working relationships, and beliefs from both sides. It touched on a subject that sadly to this day seems to be taboo in our society.

This is a brilliant story that come alive. I loved this book and highly recommend it!!

I loved this book couldn't put it down. Jack England had a very rough life and he did something when he was fifteen that put him in jail. When he got out and with the help of a woman who wouldn't give up on him he got a good job. Aden Rochester needed a new assisstant, but when she found out that Jack was her new assisstant she gave him a month before he quite. Eden is not proude of the way she got her position at Thornfield, but she had to do anything to keep her daughter safe. Jack and Eden worked well together and soon they developed feelings for each other, but when Jack found Eden with someone else he was destroyed and didn't want to have anything to do with her again.

5.0 out of 5 stars A genius re-working of a classic with lots of added heat!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on September 29, 2016
Now, I should confess, I've not read Jane Eyre, so even though this is a modern day retelling, I was just hooked on story regardless. Eden is the modern day Mr Rochester and performs perfectly as "byronic" heroine when she first meets Jack. He stays cool and composed, as though nothing affects him, but it soon becomes apparent that Eden affects him in the best way.

I loved the way Jack's character was portrayed, he lets everything Eden throws at him just roll straight off him. He's brilliant at his job and one of the few assistants that can handle Eden. At first I thought Eden was just down to be rude to everyone, even Jack, but as you learn more about her, you start to understand her more.

The tension between the two of them was everything I want in a romance. Jack seems like a sweet and relaxed man, seemingly controlled around everyone, but with Eden his dominant side breaks out and my lord is it HOT!

The secrets the two of them have are juicy as!! I was gripped by the retelling of Jack's past, the decisions he made and Eden's troubles as she tried to decide how to judge. I was still rooting for Jack the whole way through. He is EVERYTHING!!! Eden does do questionable things and it is AMAZING to read a story where the gender roles are flipped. Even though we hear both points of view and Jack at no point seems like a heroine role, Eden is very much the one who takes on the more masculine romance novel role. It's refreshing!

This book is one that needed to happen and I hope more like it come out following this. Celia writes in her author note at the end about the prejudice she and her husband have met in her own life, so the fact that this is a mixed raced romance which switches up a Bronte classic makes this a book you CANNOT afford to miss! Perfectly written as we've come to expect from Celia Aaron, this book is a genius re-working of a classic with lots of added heat.

Kudos to Celia for taking your typical romance novel and flipping it on its head. We just need more books like this that challenge the stereotype and add variety to an otherwise repetitive romance formula. Sign me up for more of this!!

Eden Rochester is a kickass demanding real estate agent who goes through assistants quicker than the weather changes. Jack England is her newest assistant who seems to keep her on her toes.

Both characters have their secrets and troubled pasts but both come from completely opposite backgrounds. Eden is a really strong woman even with everything that has happened in her life and Jack is sort of the silent brooding type until it's necessary for him to stand up for something.

The story flows really well with its drama and hot scenes that will have you wanting more from the filthy mouth of Jack. You will instantly love Jack and most defiantly grow to love Eden. Their trials and tribulations makes this story so much more better and their love real.
